Great news Louise, I also look forward to the announcement of the Recreation and Tourism Reference Group.
The framework for the Greater Alpine National Park is really starting to take shape in a postive way, all credit to the planning team.
Are you able to put up an outline of who each of the members of the Alpine AC are?
Hi Louise,
Is it possible to get some background info on the committee
members?
Like, who and what they represent.
Regards, Colin Curtis.
Dale and Colin,
Yes we can get some info out on each of the members of the Alpine Advisory Committee. Briefly I can say that the committee members comprise: 5 members with expertise and experience in preservation of the parks; 5 members with expertise in recreational use of the parks (such as bushwalking, fishing, cross country skiing, four-wheel driving, camping); 2 with cattle grazing experience; 2 with local government experience; and 1 with tourism experience. I'll get some more detail together soon.
Regards
Hi again Louise,
As a deer stalker, I thought that one of the hunting organisations ( eg Australian Deer Assocciation )would have had a representitive on the committee.
Regards
Colin,
A person with recreational deer hunting did apply and was recommended for appointment by DSE to the Minister. Unfortunately this person withdrew their application whilst it was with the Minister which was disappointing. There will be a Recreation and Tourism Advisory Committee formed soon, so we will investigate the recreation gaps in the Alpine Advisory Committe and ensure they're filled within the Recreation and Tourims Advisory Group.
Regards
Colin and Dale,
